Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and a Human Snitch in Quidditch
Quick Facts:
- Part 1 of the two-part finale of Harry Potter will air in Mid-November 2010. Part 2 will air in 2010
- As of June 2008, over 400 million copies of Harry Potter novels has been translated into 67 languages
- If a muggle spotted Hogwarts, they would just see an old ruin with a sign “Keep out, dangerous building”.
- At Middlebury College in Vermont, students came up with a way for Muggles (non-wizards) to play the popular game Quidditch in Harry Potter
- Daniel Radcliffe who plays Harry Potter will get $25 million per film for the last two films, while Emma Watson (Hermione) and Rupert Grint (Ron) will get $15 million a piece for each film
Without question, the first of the final two films will be on the top of the list of many this holiday season as Harry Potter and the Death Hallows whether your friends admit it or not. Part 1 is released mid to late November, in Canada its release date is November 19th, 2010. The extremely popular fantasy series written by J. K. Rowling made her a billionaire. The series has officially ended in the seventh novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Lord Voldemort and his supporters have chased around Harry for long enough, and the time has come to end it once and for all! I’m not going to give away the story, that’s your job to either find out through the book or the movies. I assume the movies will have a bit of a different twist, as they should. I wasn’t much of a Harry Potter fan initially but over the years, I watched the movies and I’ve been hooked. After watching the latest movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince I bought all the books including the final one and went through them like there was no tomorrow.
It also helps that Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) is absolutely gorgeous. She has grown up to be one of the most beautiful actresses alive, and her English accent doesn’t hurt either. Charlize Theron has always been my favorite actress, but Emma Watson has certainly climbed the ranks very quickly for me and I’m glad Burberry had her model because we got to see a different side of her.
A Human Snitch in Quidditch
So I was looking at the Wall Street Journal online today and came across this slideshow. At the Middlebury College in Vermont, the students gathered and figured out a way for us Muggles to figure out how to play Quidditch without flying or having a Nimbus 2000. Quite interesting, I found the picture with the human snitch especially amusing, he looks a lot easier to catch than the movies!
I do think it will be difficult for Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson to find new roles in different films. When you take part in such a large project like Harry Potter, everytime people see them in a different film they’ll say, “Oh it’s that girl from Harry Potter!” But I guess their latest paycheques from the films won’t put them in a hurry for more work. I just hope they have someone around them that has taught them a thing or two about money.
